For Musicians & Producers

Pull Any Song Apart
and Play Along

Split a track into vocals, drums, bass, guitar and piano. Mute the part you play, solo the part you’re learning, slow it down until you can hear every note. The pitch never changes.

Everything you need to learn a part

Built by musicians, for musicians

Six Separate Stems

Vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano and everything else, each on its own channel, with its own fader.

Mute and Solo

Drop the guitar out and play it yourself. Solo the bass to work out the line. One key each.

Slow It Down

Down to half speed. Time-stretched properly, so the pitch stays exactly where it was.

Loop a Section

Drag across the waveform to loop the two bars you keep missing. Stay there until they’re yours.

Stage-Ready in CountIn

When the mix is right, send it to CountIn, our sibling tool. It comes back as a file with a synced count-in baked in, ready for the gig.

Export Your Mix

Bounce your mix (faders, EQ, pan and tempo) to a clean 24-bit WAV, with no click on top.

How it works

Four steps, no manual

Step 1

Drop in a track

Drag in an MP3 or a WAV. Whatever you bounced, bought or recorded.

Step 2

Let it split

The separation runs in the cloud. A few minutes for a full song, and the tempo is detected while you wait.

Step 3

Build your mix

Mute, solo, EQ, pan. Slow it down, mark a loop.

Step 4

Play along

Practise in the browser, or export the mix and take it to rehearsal.

Frequently asked questions

What can I upload?

MP3, WAV, FLAC or M4A, up to 10 minutes and 50 MB. A studio-quality source gives cleaner stems than a low-bitrate MP3.

Is there really no catch?

Separation runs on rented GPUs and costs real money per song, so each person gets 2 separations a day and the whole site has a daily cap on top. If you hit either, come back tomorrow. Everything else is genuinely free and there’s no account.

How long does separation take?

A few minutes for a typical song. You’ll see the queue position and progress while it runs.

Do I need an account?

No. There’s no sign-up and no login. Open the app and drop in a track.

What happens to my files?

Your track is uploaded only to be separated. The stems are cached in your own browser, so reopening a song is instant and offline.

Why can I still hear a muted part?

Because separation is never perfect. Instruments overlap in the frequency spectrum, so a little bleed always remains. That is true of every tool on the market, not just this one. It gets quieter, not silent.

Stems, tracks or parts?

Different words for the same thing: the individual instrument layers a song is built from. Split them out and you can practise against the rest of the band.
